Organising your own outdoor cinema hire is as easy as these 3 simple steps:
- Phone our friendly staff, or send us an email, to establish the size screen you need. We will email you a quote for your movie night covering all the staff, equipment and logistics involved.
- Choose your movie and we will obtain the licence required.
- Confirm the date you want so we can ensure it is available and we will take care of the rest!

We keep the latest catalogs of outdoor movies available from major distributors, both general titles and family-friendly movies, just drop us an email and we will email you a copy.
Your movie will be shown at its best if you allow 15 minutes after sunset before you start. Of course, sunset changes daily and it depends on where you are (and daylight saving). See here for sunset times.
Current releases (titles showing in the cinemas at present) are generally not available for outdoor exhibition until after release to video. Contact us to see if your chosen film is available for outdoor (non theatrical) exhibition.
Yes, we will provide the movie shown on the night, We usually use new copies, to ensure there are no faults that might affect the smooth running of your show.
Even if you want a special or hard to find title, tell us what you want and we can generally source it for you.
The good news is that, if you are an Outdoor Movies customer, we handle licensing for you.
When you tell us what movie you want, we will obtain a quote for your licence.

Please note: DVD’s from your local DVD shop are for home use – they cannot be shown in a public event.

If you give us enough notice of postponement, we will change the date of your event if bad weather threatens your plans. However, we recommend you plan an alternative undercover or indoor venue, so you can still have the movie indoors and not disappoint the friends and neighbours who want to share the evening with you.
Outdoor Movies regularly runs events in Brisbane and South East Queensland (including the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba/ Ipswich). We run events between Brisbane and Sydney, including Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour. Our Sydney teams provide events throughout Sydney and surrounds, including Newcastle and Canberra, while our Melbourne crew also look after nearby cities. We supply everything for your outdoor cinema. The big screen, a powerful projector, professional sound system and a technician to set it all up and run it for you – and take it all away at the end of your movie night. We even supply the movie.
